Role
Writer, Interviewer, Editor, Photographer
Project type

Finding Peace is a written and visual feature exploring Bay Area artist Seiji Oda’s creative journey, his cultural identity, and his approach to music. This project blends interview, photography, and storytelling to dive into Seiji’s influences, his Japanese-American heritage, and the process behind his song “Peaceful.”
Through in-depth conversation and documentary-style photography, I captured how Seiji fuses Bay Area hip-hop, city pop, and lo-fi elements into his sound, while staying rooted in his community and upbringing. The story highlights how Seiji balances high-energy performances with introspective creativity, how his dual heritage shapes his artistry, and his ever-evolving path to peace.
The feature was published as part of Ninety Eight Collectives, combining my writing, interviewing, and editing with photography contributed by myself and collaborators. This project reflects my commitment to telling authentic stories of artists and communities through a sociological and cultural lens.
